Step up to the next level of AR-15 defensive shooting skills by taking our AR-15 Defensive Concepts Class! This four-hour class dovetails with our Intro to AR curriculum and adds many real-world defensive skills and drills that will help you better use your AR to protect yourself. It’s held in the classroom and on our onsite ranges.

Carbine/rifle safety considerations
Fundamentals of AR-15 handling
Zeroing procedures/hold over
Ready position
Loading/unloading
Tactical reloading and malfunction drills
Multiple shots on multiple targets
Shooting with movement both lateral and forward
Positional shooting from knee and prone
Shooting from cover/concealment
Required equipment
AR-15 Rifle zeroed at 50 yards (No AKs, hunting rifles or AR pistols. If your rifle isn’t zeroed, please arrive one hour early)
400 rounds of 223/556 ammunition (ammunition is for sale onsite)
Two-point sling
Three x 30 round magazines
Double AR mag pouch or two single pouch holders
Appropriate range attire (long pants, belt, brimmed hat/cap, crew neck shirt, closed toe shoes - NO crocs)
Electronic ear protection
Eye protection
Recommended equipment:
Red Dot Optic or other non-magnified scope is recommended over just iron sights.
ALL required equipment is available for sale in our onsite Pro Shop.
You MUST have a good working knowledge of firearms safety and AR-15 operation. If you just purchased your first AR, we recommend you take our Intro to AR-15 class first.
